MANUFACTURING ENGINEER, PENGE (ME 146)
The scope of the role is to work within an operations environment to provide the Manufacturing Engineering expertise in supporting the manufacture of existing / new products and associated processes, devising improved processes and being capable of positively representing the company to customers and suppliers in a technical role. Main responsibilities include: working with the Manufacturing Supervisors and Operators, to improve manufacturing productivity, reduce standard times, and reduce rework / scrap based on root cause analysis data, Solving manufacturing problems by use of RCA techniques, and eliminating recurrence by Pokayoke applications, working with teams led by Project Leaders consisting of Electro-magnetic, Mechanical and Electronic Design Engineers and Quality Engineers to apply knowledge and skill to ensure new products are designed with DFM / DFA in mind, transferring new products into lean manufacturing cells. Role also involves Generation and maintenance of BOM’s / Routings on Muirhead’s MRP system (AS400), New product tooling design cost estimates, PFMEA’s. The candidate will be familiar with Lean Manufacturing principles and apply them to increase capacity, reduce lead times and subsequently improve on-time delivery to the customer. The successful candidate will have; HNC in Mechanical, Electronics or Manufacturing Engineering, Experience of using Fishbone / Ishikawa diagrams. Good grasp of the concepts of standard times, efficiency, utilisation and productivity, and their measurement, Experience in technical and problem solving experience in an electro-mechanical manufacturing environment, PC skills are essential (MS Office), Able to design tools and fixtures using CAD and Work study techniques, experience of working in a similar environment, also a driver and able to travel to other company sites and exhibition centres.
SALES & MARKETING COORDINATOR (TS142)
The scope of the role is to coordinate the marketing and sales support activities of Traxsys as directed by the Sales Manager to aid the revenue growth of the company. Main responsibilities include: Ensure the corporate identity is maintained within the company, Organize all aspect for advertising within directories, magazines & trade shows, Monitor the marketing spend and provide information, Organise the design and organization of exhibition stands, Liaise with sales staff to ensure that quotations and orders are properly followed up, Provide initial point of contact for sales leads received via the web, To provide up to date trend analysis of both Traxsys market segments and competitors, Analysis of monthly website statistics. The successful candidate will have; Degree level qualification in relevant or associated subject e.g. marketing or any degree level qualification with at least part-qualification in professional marketing e.g. CIM or CAM, good Microsoft Office Skills, Strong proof reading skills and proven ability to write editorial/ advertising copy and press releases, Experience of working in a similar environment with a strong focus on marketing and organizing exhibitions from start to finish, also a driver and able to travel to other company sites and exhibition centres.
PRODUCT ASSURANCE TEAM LEADER, PENGE (REF MQ144)
The scope of the role is to Lead, supervise and develop the Test team to assure final product and support business quality, cost and delivery targets as defined by the Senior Management Team. Main responsibilities are; Inspection and testing of intermediates, finished parts, repairs and rejects for a product range of precision electromechanical components and control systems for aerospace and military applications, Monitor product quality to ensure requirements are achieved including First Article Inspection and SPC, Develop and maintain appropriate records/statistics of, and preparing reports on reject and failure rates, laboratory capacity, product quality and equipment utilisation. The successful Candidate will have; HNC Electrical Engineering or equivalent, Significant IT Skills, Knowledge of electronic equipment for testing electronic and electromagnetic components, Knowledge of mechanical measurements (e.g.CMM), Knowledge of regulatory requirements appertaining the supply of product for the Aerospace and/or Defence industry, Experience of working within a manufacturing environment preferably Aerospace or Military environment, Experience of a supervisory role and dealing with staff performance issues and be able to travel to other customer and company sites.
PRINCIPAL ENGINEERS, ANDOVER (REF: ME132)
The role involves the design of application specific electro-magnetic devices and working within a multi-disciplined team including Project Leaders, mechanical and electronic design engineers to support their delivery. Main responsibilities include; The design of electromagnetic devices such as dc/ac motors, generators and sensors, Carry out electromagnetic FE analysis, Carry out magnetic circuit calculations, Carry out testing on new and existing wound product devices, Produce engineering reports detailing technical work carried out, Work effectively within multidisciplinary teams to support the New Product Introduction process. The successful candidate will have Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or similar discipline. Significant experience in design of precision wound electromechanical products including one or more of the following: Rotating machinery, Motor / sensors, DC brushed and brushless motors, Torque motors, AC induction motors, Stepper Motors, DC and AC tacho generators, Resolvers and Pick-offs. Experience in an Aerospace or closely related industry and the ability to drive to other company and customer sites.
AVIONICS TECHNICIAN, SOUTHALL (REF: MAV131)
To undertake repair, overhaul and calibration of avionics equipment. A minimum of 2-3 years experience in electronic repairs to component level is essential. All candidates must have a good electronics background, good soldering skills and be able to understand technical documentation (including schematic diagrams)
DIRECTOR OF OPERATIONS, PENGE (REF: VO130)
The scope of the role as The Director of Operations – Motion, is in charge of the operations of Muirhead ’s Motion Division, which cover and Take specific responsibility for the following areas within the company: Management and direction of staff, The manufacturing activities: production cells and their supporting functions (production planning and controlling, stores, shipping and receiving), The purchasing and buying activities: selection of suppliers, negotiation with them, setting of objectives, purchase order and follow up, In the current organisation, the operations cover also the production of demonstrators (for Muirhead internal use) and prototypes, as described in the New Product Introduction Procedures. This organisation might change if the optimisation of the whole Muirhead organisation requires it. The general objectives of the Operations Director are: Delivery: aim towards 100% on time delivery, Quality: aim towards zero non quality costs, Costs: permanently reduce the production costs (direct and indirect costs), using the standard costs as the reference. People: ensure the development of the skills of his people, both technical and management skills to ensure the achievement of the above mentioned objectives, Organisation: Promote the implementation of a Lean organisation throughout the operations and throughout Muirhead altogether where the processes are cross-functional. Strategy: Anticipate and prepare the evolution of the operations to ensure that future expectations of customers in terms technology, costs, quality and service will be met. This includes amongst others a reflection on the future location of the production

MANUFACTURING ENGINEER, ANDOVER (REF: VE127)
The scope of the role is to work within the Operations department to provide Manufacturing Engineering expertise in supporting the manufacture of both existing and new products and their associated processes. The candidate will require familiarity of lean manufacturing principles and have the ability to apply them to support the achievement of the Quality, Cost and Delivery goals of the business. The candidate should also have the capability of positively representing the company to customers and suppliers in a technical capacity. The successful candidate will have a Mechanical / Manufacturing / Electrical HND, good Microsoft Office Skills, Experience of using Fishbone/Ishikawa diagrams, Significant technical and problem solving experience in an electro-mechanical manufacturing environment, with previous Lean and NPI knowledge and have worked in a similar background, also a driver who has access to a car and able to travel to other Company sites and Customers.
MECHANICAL DESIGN ENGINEER, ANDOVER (REF: VE128)
The role involves working with a team of Project Leaders and Electro-magnetic, mechanical and electronic design engineers to support the delivery of world class designs for application-specific solutions. It is expected that suitable candidates will have an appreciation of the mechanical design of precision servo components. Main responsibilities include; The support of new products from concept through to volume manufacture, carrying out stress/dynamic analysis using FEA tools and hand calculations and working within company procedures and contribute to their development, the objective being to maximise company efficiency whilst meeting all customer requirements. The successful candidate will have HND in engineering discipline with 5 years relevant experience, a track record of producing high quality work within 3D CAD systems, Aerospace and ISO9001 design and manufacturing. Good PC skills (MS Office), good planning skills and a team player along with the ability to travel, including overseas.
GRADUATE ELECTROMAGNETIC ENGINEER, ANDOVER (REF: VE107)
The role involves working with a team of Electromagnetic Engineers with a view to improving skills/abilities as part of Muirhead succession plan. Main responsibilities include; Assist Principal Engineers in the design of electromagnetic devices such as dc/ac motors, generators and sensors, carry out electromagnetic FE analysis, Carry out the following: magnetic circuit calculations, testing on new and existing wound product devices and Produce engineering reports detailing technical work carried out. The successful candidate will have a Good Degree in Electrical Engineering, MSc in Design of Electrical Machines or equivalent, Experience of using FE analysis, good PC skills (Microsoft Office) and is a driver who owns or has access to car. Knowledge of CAD, SPEED and MotorCad would be an advantage.
